Development of an open source power monitor
The overarching goals of the power monitoring project are to build a power monitoring device that costs less than $20 that monitors power on an outlet-by-outlet level. This is the first step towards building a pervasive, wirelessly-networkable, power monitoring solution for the Duke Smart Home. A design for the circuitry was first found. Then a prototype was built. The monitor is currently in testing phase. By the end of the summer there should be a working, enclosed, and open source power monitor.
